Background

Our Client is a General Insurance company on a mission to Make Insurance Simple for people. It is backed by a leading financial institute in the world, headquartered in Toronto, Canada.

Their platform is built on Adobe Experience Manger (AEM 6.3). Adobe used to provide them end-to-end AEM services. They reached us as their cost to company on AEM is relatively high, and also utilizing available features in the platform was a constraint.

Challenges

  1. Components editing and publishing microsites using AEM was a major challenge
  2. Identifying crucial issue for deployment failure (Once in a 5 deployments there would be a failed deployment)
  3. Re-writing of URLs and routing hits to newly written URLs in AEM
  4. Restricting duplicate user profiles (Adobe Campaign and AEM integration)
  5. Saving user data during website service and maintenance
  6. Access Control List (ACL)

Solution

Our AEM Architects done a through audit of existing AEM platform, provided a road map and have deployed a couple of senior AEM Developers at client location to look into possible solution on major challenges. These developers directly works with IT and Marketing teams in solving the issue they had with the platform.

Components

  • Our developers participated in brain storm sessions with clients IT and Marketing teams initially and understood the basics of their structure and configuration.
  • Inherited several mechanisms provided by AEM and adapted readily available component including override, overlay and the Sling Resource Merger
  • And set up instances like AEM Author and AEM Publisher to utilize enhanced AEM functionalities for managing client’s website

Deployment

  • After thoroughly studying and understanding the structure and configuration of existing AEM server setup, our Architect suggested increase in server configuration; successfully kick-started easy way of deploying with no failures

Redirecting existing URLs to new ones

  • Our team used dispatcher in conjunction with a server, resulting in cleared cache; installing dispatcher can increase the security of AEM instance as well
  • So, all the old URLs are directed to new ones; cleared cache content in the dispatcher whenever a page is published
  • Complete accessibility of site was leveraged from dispatcher, resulting in directing dead and old URLs to new ones automatically, whenever those are used

Adobe Campaign and AEM integration

  • In order to restrict duplicate profiles in Adobe Campaign, our team has integrated Adobe Campaign and AEM; and based on whether the user logged or not, profiles are created in Campaign
  • This has for the most part restricted duplicate profiles in campaign and precise user journey reports are stored which are leveraged for further profile segmentation

Website service and maintenance

  • During website maintenance and service, most of the content will be available for browsing, but in case someone is interested either to raise a request on product demo or try adding a product to cart the system doesn’t allows the function
  • Earlier this data during maintenance was not stored in the system, our team had made sure to adapt available libraries to save the data and sent for targeting with specific messaging based on user interest

  • Effective utilization of AEM libraries
  • Creating components and wireframes
  • API integrations
  • End-to-end publishing of microsites

Our client is extremely happy with our services, now their marketing team is looking more into promoting and coming up with new offers. All these are now communicated to their customers through various channels such as SMSs, emails, website, blogs and others. Whereas we are making sure that our client has seamless experience and flawless systems to run promotions, loyalty and sales campaigns to their customers.
